Byron Boston served twenty (20) years with Dallas Police Department before retiring in May 2017. He spent over fourteen (14) years in the Narcotics Division as an undercover officer. For five (5) years, Byron was assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a Task Force Officer (TFO) to investigate transnational criminal organizations impacting the Southwest Border of the United States. These investigations involved drug trafficking, extortion's, kidnappings, and homicides. 

During his fourteen (14) years in the Narcotic Division, Byron was also assigned to Tactical Narcotic Teams which were responsible for executing dynamic entry search warrants, vehicle assaults, and undercover officer extractions.  Byron is currently a Reserve Dallas Police assigned to the Criminal Intelligence Unit and actively assisted Detectives with cell phone analysis, open source intelligence, digital search warrant preparation, and other investigative needs. He also continues to serve as a training officer within the Narcotic Division.

Byron has been a national training instructor for over (10) years. During that time period he has trained thousands military, federal, state, local, and tribunal law enforcement officers from across the United States and Canada with exception reviews. Byron possess a Master of Arts in Emergency Management and Homeland Security from Arizona State University.

Brief Overview:

Police and minority relations will only improve with up-to-date training dealing with issues head-on. This course will help officers identify and understand the problem, communicate more effectively with citizens, ensure compliance with federal & state laws, prepare for hostile encounters, and continue to engage in proactive policing without jeopardizing their safety.

Information presented during this course is not designed to create an atmosphere of passive or reactive policing. When that approach is taken, the criminals win and wreak havoc in the community. In addition, it creates a more dangerous environment for police officers.

One of the most impactful steps to influencing change and promoting positive relations in a community is hiring the right officers, and diversity is the key. It's no secret that law enforcement is facing significant problems nationwide with interest in the profession. This block of instruction will include strategies to initiate recruitment from a more diversity-seeking approach, and citizen programs that help promote positive relations within the community.

Proven strategies to improve police and community relations across the country will be presented. The primary focus of this training is bridging the gap between law enforcement and the communities they serve while maintaining smart, aggressive strategies to deal with those that choose to violate the law.
