The Oregon Peace Officers Association currently has general law enforcement membership as well as four subchapters, also known as special chapters. These subchapters represent particular segments of the law enforcement community and serve the criminal justice field in general. Each subchapter is guided by a constitution or set of bylaws consistent with the OPOA Constitution. Annual meetings are held for all members, as well as specialized training for their segment.
The Oregon Peace Officers Association currently has nearly 1,400 members from all areas of the law enforcement community. OPOA members include both sworn and non-sworn criminal justice professionals throughout the State of Oregon, in addition to four subchapters representing special segments within law enforcement. The Awards Banquet is held each year in conjunction with the annual OPOA Training Conference.
Each year, the Oregon Peace Officers Association offers a $1,000 scholarship opportunity to a dependent of an OPOA member.

OPOA provides a forum for bringing legislative proposals to the attention of the law enforcement community and the citizens of Oregon. We are committed to programs that promote the safety of the citizens of Oregon, and the welfare of the law enforcement community.
Through many special committees, OPOA involves its members in the operation of the association, and allows for them to have a direct impact on a multitude of pending issues. Members are encouraged to participate in various committees and boards such as: Executive Board, Training, By-Laws, Legislation, Conferences, Awards, Membership, Directory, Scholarships, Public Information, Newsletter or Police Memorial.
With your OPOA membership you can choose to become a member of one of the three OPOA subchapters, including: Oregon Association of Reserve Peace Officers, Background Investigators Association, and Oregon Association of Property and Evidence Officers.
